Amy Hwang has drawn cartoons for The New Yorker since 2010. She is a winner of the National Cartoonists Society’s 2019 Silver Reuben Award for Gag Cartoons.
Amy worked in architecture before pursuing cartooning full-time in 2018, a decision she recounts in her 2019 TEDxYale talk. She first started drawing cartoons in 1997 for The Columbia Daily Spectator as a student at Barnard College.
Born and raised in Texas, Amy currently lives in Scarsdale, NY with her daughter.
