British cartoonist and NCS member Clive Collins has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list. The Member of the British Empire medal is awarded on the basis of exceptional achievement or service, and previous recipients range from The Beatles to world champion boxer Lennox Lewis. The late Jim Russell, NCS member and noted Australian cartoonist, was an MBE recipient.
Londoner Clive, a regular contributor to magazines such as Punch, Playboy and Readers Digest, has served the UK cartooning organizations with distinction, and is honored for his outstanding services to the profession. He will receive the MBE from Queen Elizabeth II at an investiture ceremony to be held in Buckingham Palace later this summer.
