Mort Gerberg is an acclaimed cartoonist, author, illustrator, and public speaker whose work has appeared in publications ranging from The New Yorker and Playboy to Harvard Business Review. Over a career spanning more than six decades, he has written, edited, and illustrated more than 45 books, including the landmark guide Cartooning: The Art and the Business. A two-time National Cartoonists Society Magazine Cartoonist of the Year (2007 and 2008), Gerberg was inducted into the National Cartoonists Society Hall of Fame with its Gold Key Award in 2021 and received the Tom Gill Educational Award for his lifetime contributions to cartooning and education. His work has been featured by the Library of Congress and the New-York Historical Society, which mounted the retrospective Mort Gerberg Cartoons: A New Yorker’s Perspective in 2019. Gerberg taught cartooning for more than 15 years at Parsons School of Design and continues to lecture nationally on creativity, humor, and positive aging.
