Dawn Griffin is a designer/illustrator/cartoonist, A.K.A. Certified Creative Workhorse, living in Broomall, PA, with her partner Jon and dog, Ozzy. By day she is a Graphic Designer for J&J Snack Foods, creating packaging, logos, literature, and trade show graphics for various brands such as Superpretzel and Luigi’s Water Ice. By night, she is a freelance illustrator and cartoonist, honing her own brand of “cute, funny, quirky, and inclusive” comics, kids books, and punny illustrations, under the umbrella of Dawn Griffin Studios. Her all-ages comic strip/webcomic Zorphbert & Fred about 2 aliens disguised as dogs going on wacky adventures, spans 4 volumes. Published by Eifrig Publishing, Dawn illustrated Abby’s Adventures kids book series, which promotes self-esteem in girls ages 3-8, also boasting 4 books. In 2019, Dawn illustrated the successfully Kickstarted children’s book “Ida Finds her Voice”. which helps children and parents discuss tough topics together. She also co-founded the Webcomic Alliance, offering aspiring comic creators free articles, tutorials, videos and a podcast. Her work has attracted the attention of many publishers, being apart of Anthologies such as the Team Cul de Sac Book for Parkinson’s Research under Andrews McMeel Publishing, the Sugar Ninjas Women-in-Comics Volumes, various illustration projects for Fortress Publishing, and a story/cover art for the anthology RISE: Comics Against Bullying published by Northwest Press. She is currently working on a young adult supernatural mystery graphic novel series “Watch”, of which issue #1 was just released. So, her tagline “Creative Workhorse” may be an understatement.
