Andre Damelle is the creator of Somewhere in Between, which launched in May 2020 and marked the realization of a lifelong dream to create a comic strip. Raised around comics by a father who was a part-time artist, Andre developed an early love for visual storytelling. He studied Studio Art in college before stepping away, only to rediscover his creative drive years later after the birth of his son. As his biracial child began asking questions about identity and belonging, Andre noticed a lack of stories that reflected kids like him. With encouragement from his wife—and an iPad—he began bringing those stories to life. Today, Andre publishes two to three strips per week across major platforms, with additional exclusive content on Patreon. Somewhere in Between has grown to over 100,000 followers and tens of millions of views across Instagram, Webtoons, Threads, and Facebook. He has also self-published two books, Somewhere in Between: The First Collection and Somewhere in Between: Homecoming, and is currently developing Moxie, his newest comic project.
