Winner of the 2023 and 2024 Richard Wright Literary awards for best graphic novel series and children’s book illustration, and a graduate of the University of Memphis, Martheus’ love for pop culture, along with his talent as an illustrator, was a natural fit for maintaining a career as a graphic designer, art director and comic book illustrator. After starting his career as an intern at Signature Advertising and productive stays at Oates Design and Redmond Design, Martheus struck out on his own as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator working with companies such as the Lucas Film, Hasbro Toys, IDW Publishing, Universal Pictures, Radison Hotel, The YWCA, The Girl Scouts Heart of the South, Special Olympics, The Heal the Hood Foundation, OrthoMemphis and the Memphis Grizzlies. Recently, he has illustrated for such titles as Bad Girls Club for the Oxygen Network, and illustrated, wrote, and produced his graphic novel titled, Shinobi: Ninja Princess. Currently, Martheus is the owner of MAW Productions, LLC with clients around the United States. https://choose901.com/from-panels-to-partners-the-story-of-martheus-and-janet-wade-and-25-years-of-the-toshigawa-universe/
